Waterproofing System System: use of two-component waterproof or one-component waterproofing cement mortars

The containment of water, both in the case of positive pressures and in the case of negative pressures, can nowadays be solved in an alternative way to the classic and traditional system of bituminous sheaths.

System Waterproofing-System, through the use of cement mortars made flexible by the addition of various types of latexes or single-component polyurethane adhesives, allows to realize an innovative waterproofing with low thickness on roofs, tanks, tanks, swimming pools, balconies and terraces , preserving the existing flooring.

The product used is a one-component or two-component mortar, composed of cement binders, selected aggregates and special additives (component A) and synthetic polymers in water dispersion (comp. B). By mixing the two components together, an easily workable mixture is obtained, which can be applied both horizontally and vertically, with a high adhesion on all concrete and masonry surfaces. When fully hardened, it forms a flexible and impermeable layer, resistant to the action of external agents, resistant to the saline aggression of chlorides and sulphates.

OSMOTIC CEMENT

Waterproofing with crystalline penetration

The new waterproofing solution for full protection of the crystallization concrete proposed by Edilsystem is a single-component mixture of cement, very fine quartz, active chemicals and catalysts; the product is supplied in powder form and mixed with water to form a "grout", it can be applied by brush, brush or spray, always on damp surfaces.

Applied on concrete, it allows active chemicals and catalysts to penetrate inside and react with its components to form insoluble crystals that seal porosity and micro-cracks.

This osmotic cement permanently waterproofs and protects all concrete structures, artefacts and materials containing cement permanently.
The product penetrates into the concrete using water as both a positive and a counter-thrust. In the absence of water, no reaction takes place. In contact with water, even after application, the chemical components activate and continue the process of penetration and formation of insoluble crystals inside the concrete.

The new system affects the entire thickness of the product and applied on a damp or wet substrate to refuse, reacts with the natural compounds present in the concrete forming a crystalline complex that seals the pores, voids and micro-cracks up to 400 microns.

Edilsystem srl proposes, after numerous field experiences, the formation of monolithic waterproofing membranes obtained with a two-component polyurethane elastic membrane, using, in a totally innovative manner, pure or hybrid polyurea as a solution to the multiple waterproofing requirements.

Polyurea is a two-component elastomer obtained by mixing aromatic isocyanates and special flexible amines, hot sprayed by means of a heating pump that draws the two components and conveys them through pipes, also heated, into a special gun inside which the two components are first mixed and then sprayed.

Laying method:

Spray application using a high pressure and high temperature bimixer machine, as soon as the mixture is sprayed, an airless gun solidifies within a few seconds.

Preparation of the support:

Wood: 

  • Clean and dry and slightly rough surface (sanded, shot, or sanded)

Reinforced concrete or concrete: 

  • Before application check that the surface is dry, seasoned (humidity not higher than 15%)

  • The suitable surface is the finished one similar to the semicivile one

  • In the case of new reinforced concrete, shave with mortar to minimize the presence of the classic formwork holes

  • In the case of new ground or restoration floors, make sure there is a vapor barrier

Grès or ceramic:

  • Surface clean and dry, blown or scarified or roughened by acid washing and properly restored joints

  • A primer coat is always recommended before the application of polyuria, with the exception of the old bituminous sheaths
     

The Hydro-System System uses water-repellent polyurethane resins - hydro-expansive, solvent-free, specific to quickly and permanently seal, through predetermined injections, small and large water infiltrations into the concrete.

The Monocomponent Polyurethane Resin used is ideal for sealing, through injections, small and large losses of water in concrete or in brick constructions, through static cracks or in gaps to fill quickly and decisively. It is a hydrophilic, hydro-expansive, low viscosity polyurethane resin, solvent-free, equipped with a specific accelerator activator (comp. B) to be dosed normally at 10% on the weight of the resin (comp. A). The final product does not swell or shrink if it is injected under pressure. In a free environment the resin expands 2000% (20 times its initial volume) completely saturating the voids in the concrete walls until a completely impermeable barrier is obtained.

This technology allows:

  • Underground waterproofing (tunnels and underpasses);

  • Waterproofing of dams, aqueducts and tunnels;

  • Waterproofing underground environments (tanks, swimming pools, purification plants, lift shafts, garages, basements, underground floors).

The solution to water infiltration.

Advantages of polyurethane resin.

  • It is easily injectable, by means of specific manual or electric pumps, by means of the appropriate screw injectors;

  • It is certainly penetrating thanks to its low viscosity, its hydrophilic and water-reactive components and its high capillary activity. Penetrates and permeates cracks up to amplitudes of 0.2 mm;

  • It is effectively reactive because, in contact with water or humidity, it increases from 8 to 20 times its initial volume, through a reaction and vulcanization process with the formation of a dense and elastic foam, with a cellular structure, which stops the infiltration and hermetically seals the injected slot;

  • It is compatible with all substrates: concrete, natural stone, bricks, steel, laminates, cable coverings and injection materials of polyurethane nature, possibly pre-existing;

  • It is characterized by a very short reaction time with the aquarium about 30 "(*) which can be accelerated, where necessary, up to 15", increasing the dosage of the component B.

  • It is a non-flammable product, without solvents;

 

Phases of intervention.

1. cleaning and sealing of lesions and adjacent surfaces;
2. execution of the perforations;
3. installation of screw injectors;
4. preparation of the water-repellent resin mixture;
5. fixing the delivery pipe on the screw injector;
6. injection of water-reactive resin;
7. removal of the spill resin;
8. cleaning the pump and accessories.

• resin designed for blocking water infiltrations with a large flow rate and / or strong hydrostatic pressure in injuries or joints whether they are moving or not;
• resin suitable for blocking infiltrations in diaphragms;
• suitable for filling cracks in rocks, layers of gravel, cracks and crawl in concrete structures subject to settling or slight movement;
• injections in tunnels under construction;
• screen injections beyond porous structures in the presence of high-speed waterways;

Water infiltrations are resolved by injecting polyurethane resins.
In fact, the resin injected through appropriate injectors (paker) reacts in contact with the water and / or with the internal humidity of the walls, triggering a chemical reaction that increases the initial volume of the resin up to 20 times, completely saturating the voids present in the walls. concrete walls until a completely impermeable barrier is obtained.
